About Xevo
Our crazy idea to make the web simple to use
In late 2008 Rich and Steve were working at the same software company and had an idea; an idea that grew from the frustration with the poor interface design, that for years has plagued website management software. The idea was simple: any business owner should be able to create and manage their own website with ease.
The Storey Institute
The company was founded in early March 2009 and they quickly began to design the system they knew would bring their vision to reality. After two years of long days bleeding into long nights, Xevo CMS has developed into the most easy-to-use and user-focused website management tool on the market.
Xevo is based at the Storey institute in the heart of the Lancaster, Lancashire. The Storey institute is home to a large number of small creative companies which it attracts due to its inspirational creative space and its location in the centre of the city. Due to the influence of the local university, Lancaster is the perfect location for any IT company.
Steve Nield
After attending Lancaster University, Steve spent a year immersed in the bleeding edge of software development as an intern at Microsoft. After coming back to Lancaster, Steve worked for a large, Cumbria-based software development company which develops large e-Commerce websites for a demanding customer base such as Jessops and MacDonald Hotels as well as desktop applications for companies such as First Rail and NHS. Steve loves an elegant solution to a complicated problem; consequently he is in charge of technology, development and delivery.
Rich Gorman
Rich began his coding career at the age of 10 on an Oric-1, and after just three years he had two games published for the zx spectrum. Over the years he has worked in various industries such as mobile gaming, electronics manufacture, and consumer web products.
